Well, we bought our property in 2004. It was a piece of property that was within our price range. 10.24 acres. During the past few years there have been alot of plans made and re-made. But finally this year, in February, we finally found a man who would drill our well for us. His name is Ken Wright from the Nibley area. He was very professional in his dealing with us and we've appreciated his work.
The Palley Palace
Well, ok, some people may think that I'm a little crazy. And some people may know i'm a lot crazy. But regardless, I have come up with the best idea. A palace made of pallets. Well, I think that pallets sound a little bit whacky so I decided to call my palace and palley palace. That's a whole lot better don't you think?
First we had the task of finding the pallets. This wasn't hard to do at all, because at my work they get them by the truck loads. And the great thing is,,,,they don't reuse them. So they were ours just for the asking. Our palace is going to be about 16 feet by 16 feet and so we figured out that we would need approximately 48 pallets for the 4 walls and floor. We got a few extra just in case. Our 2 oldest sons helped us load the pallets and we surely did appreciate their help. March 21, 2009. We already had some 4 inch by 6 inch by 16 foot timbers that we used for the steadying of the pallet floor. We used 5 of these timbers. Brad was digging them in and making them level, when all of a sudden our friends, Sandra and Gerald came. With Brad and Gerald digging their fool hearts out we got more accomlished that day than we thought we would. Thank you so much Gerald for helping us. Mom and Trudy also came out and they helped us with the laying of the pallets. After they went home, Brad and I worked until about 7:30 that night attaching the pallets to the timbers with screws. A storm was brewing and we were so tired. So we came home before attaching any of the OSB. Maybe next weekend we can procede with the OSB. Again...thanks to all who have helped us.
